Drum Major Workshop Complete 
What a fantastic 2 day, multiple session event! The amount of local children aspiring to be drum majors has been incredibly satisfying. Wishing them all well in their journey with the Mid Ulster Drum Major Academy, they will be in great hands. The international troop sessions will continue for a little bit longer!

Now that a few days have passed and the dust has settled after The World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, The Force are extremely proud and would like to recognise the achievement of one of our elite team members Kara Gilmour who was crowned the 2023 Adult Drum Major World Champion. This was Kara’s Second Adult World Championship title having previously claimed the title in 2022. Every member of The Force could not be anymore pleased for our very humble Kara and congratulate her on this momentous achievement.
We would also like to congratulate elite members Abigail Wenlock and Kathy Hunter who both performed in their first Adult Drum Major World Championships along with Lydia Todd who competed in the Junior Grade and finished 4th in her first ever World Championships. Congratulations also to one of our Pipers, Craig Monahan who was also crowned World Champion with his band, Tullylagan Pipe Band.

The annual International Pipe Band Drumming Masterclass Workshop based in Germany, will take place in the Bethanian Kinderdorf, Ungerather Strasse 1-15, Schwalmtal, Nord Rhine Westfalen, from Friday 11th August 2023 at 9:00 hours, until Sunday 13th August 2023 at 16:00 hours.
The course is open to all Snare, Tenor and Bass drummers of all levels based across Europe, right from beginners to seasoned Pipe Band and solo professionals.
This year we are pleased to inform that the Masterclass is expanding with the introduction of a Drum Major workshop. As such we are excited to announce that this year’s Drum Major Masterclass workshop will be conducted by none other than The Force’s very own founder, Paula Braiden.
Paula is one of the World’s best and highest achieving Drum Majors in history. Paula will provide World Class tuition for aspiring, developing or seasoned Drum Majors across Europe. If you are a Drum Major, Senior, Juvenile or Junior this is an opportunity is not to be missed, learning from one of the World’s very best. Amongst many International Tattoo credits, here are just some of Paula’s past championship credentials:
Paula is also one of the World’s best tutors in the business, having taught multiple World Championship title winners, including the current 2022 Senior World Champion, Miss Kara Gilmore. Paula now uses her immense experience as a fully qualified RSPBA Drum Major Adjudicator.
