New York – Day 5 – home time, but we still had some energy for a walk around Times Square one last time, making our way to Macys, 7/11, Target and Bryant Park again for thee best coffee and pastries… ☕️ 🥐 Our hotel was prime location, just at the edge of Times Square and attached to a Serendipity’s. The lunch there was incredible, so it was a lovely finishing point to our trip. What an incredible time spent with the best people, talented, professional, fun and most of all enjoyed doing what we love most! 🎶🎶🎶 until next year, if not before!!! 😜
New York – Day 4 – New York Tartan Day Parade! This is what we were invited to come to and we got much much more from this trip than just the parade, New York Tartan Week is special. 🇺🇸 We went in the morning to Bryant Park to watch a few gigs, registered and meet some of the other participants. We arrived back to our position which we were delighted to be placed with Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band who were leading section 3. Alan Cummings was the Grand Marshall who was a delight, and Paula was beaming from ear to ear to be invited onto the VIP bus for photos and a peek of the rest of the parade. We headed off to Rockefeller Center for some photos with the band and had a gourmet take out, Chick-Fill-A that we ate on our knees in our hotel.. 🤩🤩 #WeLikeTheHighLife 🤣 We were still buzzing so we had some retail therapy, then a much needed stop at Juniors for Milkshakes / Prosecco’s paired with many laughs, Serendipity then got hit up for some more cocktails and a cheeky wee surprise (fake) birthday for Lydia! Finishing off with a midnight Art Show on Times Square! Epic Day! 🥰
New York Day 3 – This was the first of our NYC Performances – early start with pick up at 07:30 to get our boat from Battery Park to Ellis & Liberty Island. We were greeted by Robert from the Learned Kindred of Currie – Clan Currie Society and shown around the historic National Immigration Museum building. We were greeted with our own piper David, our display point was the manhattan skyline to the left and Lady Liberty to the right… so iconic, special and a lasting memory for us all. Stopped off at Central Station on the way home for some pics and then the quickest change in history and off to Raising Canes for dinner – epic seating and DJ to match. Our evening was spent then on 5th Avenue for some Empire State business, Starbucks and plenty of laughs. 🤩🤩
New York – Day 2 this was a mad one!
We started our day with an American breakfast followed by a walk to Central Park, The Force made its first TikTok, we had our live rehearsal there and done a performance on the Umpire Rock and Bridge in Central Park! We shopped, we even displayed for free food from a bakery and on Times Square which went down a treat.
We got the subway downtown, we walked Brooklyn bridge (some had to hold on tight to the railings), ground zero – 9/11 memorial was WOW!! Ellen’s Stardust Dinner at Broadway and seen Jennifer Lopez on the red carpet, followed by Summit at Vanderbilt (which same person had a noticeable deficiency in her ability to stand on anything that showed the World below her feet), and walked the streets of New York – realising this city defo doesn’t sleep! 🤩🤩
New York in photos.
Day 1 consisted of travelling to New York, checking in at Times Square OYO Hotel which was a fantastic location, getting a little photoshoot, some pizza and then heading to the NYC Tartan Week Kick Off Party. 🤩🎶
