When the 2026 FIFA World Cup opened in Los Angeles, in front of a packed SoFi Stadium and a worldwide television audience, the spectacle didn’t begin with the football — it began with the drumline. And right at the heart of it, leading the whole thing, stood a Drum Major.

Mace spinning, every step deliberate, commanding the stadium the way only a Drum Major can. The discipline. The precision. The sheer presence. The very same craft we live and breathe every single week — showcased on the biggest stage sport has to offer.

For anyone who has ever been told that Drum Majoring is “just” twirling a stick: this is what it really is. An art form. A discipline. A performance that can hold its own alongside the World’s biggest stars, at the World Cup itself.

To see it given that platform is a proud day for every Drum Major — young and old, beginner and champion — who has ever picked up a Mace and dared to lead out front.

The Force bear is safely delivered to Cayden who was the winner of the “Name the Bear” at the Magherafelt High School craft fair held in November 2025.

Whilst Abigail who hosted The Force table at this event wasn’t able to hand “McGregor” the bear over to Cayden today, we did have Amelia Higgins one of The Force Minis on hand as she was helper on the day of the fair.👌⭐️

Cayden we hope McGregor and you have lots of fun and we hope to see you at one of events soon! 🧸

The Northern Ireland Open International Championships for Marching Band Drum Majors was held today at the Hilton, what an exceptional turnout once again for this event. It’s also an incredibly well run event which I had the privilege to be invited back as adjudicator and share the floor with the great drum majors that participated.
